The Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival is Suwon’s signature cultural festival, bringing King Jeongjo’s historic procession to Hwaseong Fortress and the heritage of Suwon Hwaseong to life through performances, parades, and hands-on programs. Held around UNESCO-listed Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and Hwaseong Haenggung Palace, it offers traditional cultural experiences by day and atmospheric performances against the fortress scenery by night. The highlight, King Jeongjo’s Royal Tomb Procession, best captures the festival’s grand scale and historical spirit.
